Investing in Mental Wellbeing: Our Grant to Pathfinder CIC

NHS Tayside Charitable Foundation (NHSTCF) is proud to announce an £80,000 grant awarded to Pathfinder CIC, a dynamic community organisation dedicated to supporting mental health, wellbeing, and community development across Tayside. This significant funding will be used to enhance Pathfinder’s therapeutic services, expand peer mentoring programmes, and develop community spaces that empower individuals to build resilience and reconnect with their purpose.

Mental health challenges are prevalent across our communities, and many individuals require safe, trauma-informed spaces and tailored support to navigate their journeys towards healing and recovery. Pathfinder CIC addresses a critical need by providing these essential services, but like many community organisations, they rely on significant funding to sustain and grow their impactful programmes. The challenge lies in ensuring that everyone facing mental health difficulties has access to the support they need, delivered in a way that prioritises lived experience, safety, and community connection.

We are delighted to support Pathfinder CIC with this substantial grant. The cheque was presented to Lynn Erasmus, CEO of Pathfinder CIC, by Shelley McCarthy, Charity Chief Officer at NHS Tayside Charitable Foundation.

Shelley McCarthy commented, “We’re delighted to support Pathfinder CIC with this significant grant. Their innovative approach to community healing, mental health, and peer-led support aligns closely with our mission to improve the health and wellbeing of the people of Tayside. Lynn and her team are delivering life-changing support, and we’re proud to be part of that journey.”

Lynn Erasmus, CEO of Pathfinder CIC, shared her gratitude: “This transformational grant enables us to turn a vision into reality; a dedicated, trauma-informed sanctuary in the heart of Perth where people can heal, connect, and rebuild. We are deeply grateful to NHS Tayside Charitable Foundation for backing our belief that trauma shouldn’t be a life sentence. This financial investment serves as a vote of confidence in an approach that dares to do things differently, prioritising lived experience, safety, and community above all else, thank you to Shelley and the team for sharing our vision.”

This £80,000 grant will have a profound impact on individuals navigating mental health challenges across Tayside. By enhancing therapeutic services and expanding peer mentoring programmes, Pathfinder CIC will be able to reach more people and provide deeper, more effective support. The development of new community spaces will foster environments where individuals can heal, connect, and rebuild their lives, ultimately empowering them to build resilience and reconnect with their purpose within their communities. This investment directly contributes to improved mental health and overall wellbeing for those in need.

The Future

This grant represents a significant step towards Pathfinder CIC's vision of a dedicated, trauma-informed sanctuary in Perth. With this funding, Pathfinder can continue to grow its vital services, ensuring more individuals receive the support they need to heal and thrive. NHS Tayside Charitable Foundation is proud to be part of Pathfinder's journey, and we look forward to seeing the continued positive impact of their innovative, community-led approach to mental health.
